Political Experience:

I have served on many boards in elected, appointed and volunteer capacity. This would include three terms on what was School District 24 (8 years), three terms on Kamloops City Council (11 years), and the last two terms as a school Trustee again here in Kamloops.

I have been appointed to and in the past served on the Judicial Advisory Appointments Committee (2021-2026), the Interior Health Authority, the Provincial Health Services Authority and the BC Emergency Services Authority.

As a volunteer I have served on the board of the TRU Foundation for over a decade including four years as its chair. I recently completed four years of service to the Central Interior Business Accelerator (“CIBA”) which helps tech oriented startups get established in this region.

All of this work has assisted me in making connections and learning how to work within a team to accomplish shared goals.

Biography

I’m a born and raised Kamloopsian currently working as a tenured teaching professor at Thompson Rivers university. I teach undergraduate courses in business law as well as Real Estate Transactions for TRU Law. My journey through Kamloops public schools and my current role at TRU gives me a lens on our public education system.
My business and law degrees along with decades of private law practice also equip our board with skills that are helpful and contribute to a well run board. Most importantly however, is an ability to collaborate with my fellow trustees and unite around a shared vision for the future of our students.
