Political Experience:
While this is my first move into partisan politics, I have deep qualifications rooted in community service and organizational governance. I sat on the very first Kamloops Social Planning Council at the age of 18. I chaired the OH&S committee of a large corporation for over 10 years and in the business and tech world, I’ve served on the Board of Directors for two Canadian tech companies, spent years as a technology CEO managing bottom lines and complex operations.
I spent 15 years serving as a volunteer Auxiliary RCMP member, worked as a certified Restorative Justice Facilitator, and recently founded the Strathcona Community Collective to help neighbours tackle grassroots local projects. Today, as an executive leadership coach, I work daily with leaders to break gridlock, resolve conflict, and build trust.
Biography
Christopher Mitra is a longtime Kamloops resident running for City Council under the platform Lead with Intent.
Christopher brings a strong combination of corporate governance, technology management, and hands-on civic service. With a background in computer science and business, he has served on the Boards of two Canadian technology companies, led organizations as a technical CEO, and chaired an Occupational Health & Safety Committee for more than 10 years. Today, he works as an executive confidence and leadership coach, helping executives and teams de-escalate conflict and lead with accountability.
Deeply committed to local community safety, Christopher volunteered for 15 years as an Auxiliary RCMP member and served as a certified Restorative Justice Facilitator. Alongside his wife, he has called Kamloops home for decades. Christopher is focused on restoring respectful collaboration, sound fiscal management, and realistic problem-solving to City Hall.
