Political Experience:
My political experience began with running for Kamloops City Council in 2011, where I had the opportunity to engage directly with residents and learn more about municipal government and the issues affecting our community.
I have also been involved in community advocacy. I organized a public rally opposing the proposed gasification plant involving creosote-treated railway ties, bringing approximately 500 people together for a march from City Hall to the MLA’s office on the North Shore.
Since then, I have continued to be involved in Kamloops through my small business, volunteer work, and community involvement. I’m now seeking to bring those experiences, along with the perspective I’ve gained as a lifelong resident, business owner, and father, back to City Council.
Biography
I’m a lifelong Kamloops resident, small business owner, volunteer soccer coach, and proud father of two. I studied Engineering Design and Drafting Technology at Thompson Rivers University and have built my career in building design and energy efficiency.
I’m running for Kamloops City Council because I believe in our city and want to help build a future where young families can afford to stay, build their lives, and raise their children here. My background in building design has given me a practical understanding of housing and development, and I want to help find ways to make housing more attainable while continuing to grow our city responsibly.
I want to see every child have opportunities to participate in the activities that make Kamloops the Tournament Capital of Canada, while making better use of the facilities, spaces, and resources we already have. I also want our streets and neighbourhoods to feel safe, with accountability balanced with understanding and a focus on the people who live here.
Most importantly, I want to help bring our community together. I believe Kamloops is strongest when residents, City Council, and staff work together with respect and a shared vision for our future. I want to bring the perspective of a hardworking local business owner and father to Council, keeping today’s families and future generations in mind.
